Magical Purifier Garde And The Rhapsody Of The Unrelenting Sun: The Game: The OST

My submission to OST Jam 3, with the theme "Story of Seasons".

When I heard "Story of Seasons", the very first possible story which came to my mind was one of a young witch tasked with protecting the balance of nature from outside forces which seek to corrupt it. I decided her name would be Garde, and she'd have green hair, a magical broomstick, and a hell of an attitude. Brave and boisterous, and occasionally witty, but really none too bright. The game would be an action RPG, and she'd use her broomstick as her primary weapon as she takes on foes much larger and scarier than herself. 

So, I got to work. I only made four songs for the project, because I honestly felt that was all I needed to convey the key points. They are as follows:

PRELUDE OF SEASON'S TIDINGS

The theme for the intro cinematic. There would maybe be some backstory here. "Thousands of years ago, yadda yadda yadda...".

HERE COMES THE WITCH!

Garde's theme, obviously. This would first play when she steps onto the scene, and would directly follow the intro cinematic. It would probably also play in standard battles. I added the trap beat to really drive home the "sassy" aspect of the character.

THE CORRUPTOR

Plays during major boss battles. Starts off with a menacing guitar riff, and then of course the heroine's leitmotif kicks in halfway through.

KEEPER OF SORROWS

The final boss theme of the game, for when you fight the tragic villain behind the game's overarching conflict. It reprises the theme of the intro cutscene. This one doesn't loop like the other ones do, instead ending rather abruptly. This is because I'm thinking this would be a timed battle -- perhaps the villain's time is already basically up by the time you confront them, but the player may not feel quite as happy about it as they thought they would when they first booted up the game...
